FCN has supported Op Talla through the supported co-ordination of policing's forensic response to the impact of Covid for more than two years through the Gold and Silver Groups in line with the National Forensics Contingency Plan. On behalf of and with the community we have monitored, gathered and analysed data from all Forces and Forensic Service Providers to assist in managing significant backlogs in both Drugs and RTTOX and through significant effort of policing and providers these issues have been resolved.  

We're supporting through the NPCC Quality Board led by Chris Porter MPS, policing's national response to quality issues in drug driving samples.

When reports emerged in late 2021 of people affected by needle spiking, on behalf of DCC Harwin, Op Lester national lead, working with the community we rapidly established an effective route to market with Eurofins for fast time intelligence testing of victim samples. This route is enabling policing to build an intelligence picture on the scale of the issue.

On behalf of DCC Gibson, Op Kettledrum lead, we are providing support and have been commissioned to undertake future co-ordination of the remaining programme of retesting on behalf of policing.
