An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the Digital Portfolio of Forensic Investigation Unit (FIU) as a Digital Forensic Unit Quality Technical Officer.

Forensic Services provides dedicated scientific and technical forensic support to the investigation and reduction of crime across Greater Manchester. 

This is a unique and exciting opportunity to lead forensics quality services management both within the forensics’ portfolio and the wider organisation.

In this interesting role you will provide administrative support within the Forensic Investigation Unit (FIU) ensuring the integrity and continuity of forensic / biometric evidence and presenting a professional interface between FIU and its customers in support of the organisational requirement to secure detections and convictions. 

We are seeking to attract and recruit experienced CSIs at Tier 2 level, in particular those CSIs that have already completed a recognised CSI Stage 2 course (or equivalent) and are currently competent to examine the most serious and challenging crime scenes.

To provide expertise in the recovery and evaluation of forensic and photographic evidence ensuring maximisation of evidential retrieval.
