Issue 6 and Issue 7 of the Forensic Science Regulators (FSR) Codes of Practice and Conduct (the Codes) revised the wording in clause 28.3.1 b i to state SFR1 ‘require a statement whether the results are from a method which requires accreditation and if so, if the method is within the forensic unit’s schedule of accreditation.’
FCN Scientific Officer Paul Roberts said:
“The changes may seem minor, but forces will need to take note of them in order to comply with the Forensic Science Regulator’s Codes. This Briefing Note contains more detail and of course my colleagues in the FCN Quality Team are always available to provide advice and guidance.”
