The Home Office is seeking to appoint a new Forensic Science Regulator, in the first opening of the high-profile position in six years.

The Forensic Science Regulator ensures that the provision of forensic science services across the criminal justice system is subject to an appropriate regime of scientific quality standards.

Dr Gillian Tully took up the appointment of FSR in November 2014, and has worked in forensic science for over 25 years, specialising in DNA, innovation, validation and enhancement of quality standards.
