Would you like to know more about FCN's activities, or ask a burning question directly to the people leading on the project?
FCN and our colleagues in the Transforming Forensics programme have launched a series of virtual events this summer for people working in forensic science, operational policing and criminal justice.
Please take a look at our calendar of events below and book your slot now to attend.
What is a virtual event?
Due to current circumstances, we are holding all engagements via Microsoft Teams including FCN's Forensic Delivery Board with forensic leads and our Executive Management Board. If your organisation doesn't have access to Teams, you can still join the events below by dialling in from a phone.
We're holding two types of event throughout this summer's series. One is a 'bitesize' session, an accessible and engaging 1-hour event focused on a particular topic such as SFR or eQMS - the FCN and TF team will give you an overview of the activity and let you ask your questions. The other type of event is an 'Ask FCN and TF' session, which lets you ask a question on any topic and we'll answer it for you (either straight away or soon after the event).
Calendar of events:
'Ask FCN and TF' for operational policing - Tuesday 18th August, 1300-1400
Do you work in operational policing and have questions about FCN, TF and our key areas of work on Digital Forensics, fingerprints and others? This is the event for you, with an opportunity to speak directly with:
- T/ACC and TF Deputy Programme Director, Mark Callaghan
- TF Digital Forensics Lead, John Beckwith
- FCN Operations Services Manager, Ross Bye
This is an informal event with the agenda set by you, so please feel free to send questions in advance or come and ask them on the day. The event is open anyone working in operational policing and law enforcement. If you're unsure whether you're eligible to attend, please just ask through the method below.

FCN bitesize on SFR - Thursday 3rd September, 0930-1030
The new national Streamlined Forensic Reporting (SFR) guidance was published on 31st July, and this event is for anyone looking to understand the guidance in more detail.
FCN's Science Director, Vickie Burgin, and her team will introduce the guidance and welcome your questions on any aspect of it.
This SFR bitesize event is open to anyone working in policing, law enforcement and the criminal justice system, including the judiciary and defence. If you're unsure whether you're eligible to attend, please just ask through the method below.
