Forensic Smile Analysis: Can selfies be used to identify a person, in lieu of standard antemortem odontological data?

Join the British Association of Human Identification for an insightful webinar on the accuracy and accessibility of smile photography analysis in aiding human identification, presented by Hebe R. Unwin, an Associate Lecturer in Forensic Investigation at Plymouth Marjon University, specialising in Forensic Anthropology. We will discuss it’s past, real-world applications at present, and future in aiding investigations, especially in cases of Disaster Victim Identification (DVI) and migrant DVI. Learn about the potential of smile photography analysis to provide cost-effective, non-invasive, and globally applicable solutions for identifying individuals when traditional methods fall short and discuss where Hebe’s research may lead next.

This webinar is free to attend for all. Please register at the following link: Webinar Series 2025: Hebe Unwin

Registration closes on Tuesday 22nd April with the links sent out for the Zoom Meeting Room the morning of the webinar.
