Explore how neuro-symbolic AI techniques, machine learning (ML) and artificial intelligence (AI) might be operationalised to understand how patterns or signature for different types of criminal offences might be identified and flagged for analysis.
The scholarship will be for 3 years, October 2023 – October 2026, and will cover the full tuition fees (home or overseas) plus stipend at the UKRI rate (currently GBP 17,668 pa).
This is a research exercise into bloodstains conducted by PhD researcher Emma Hook at Staffordshire University.
This is an opportunity to make sure that the ground-breaking system being built to improve VAWG investigations will be fit-for-purpose. You will do this by providing a voice for those directly affected by crime and those who are instrumental in bringing the offenders to justice.
We seek to form a Stakeholder Panel from those with a deep understanding of the needs of: victims, police force staff, service providers and others working with forensics.
