Forensic Multimedia Technical Supervisor - Forensic
An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the Digital Portfolio of Forensic Investigation Unit (FIU) as a Forensic Multimedia Technical Supervisor.
Reporting to the Digital Forensic Technical Manager, you will be responsible for implementing ISO 17025/17020 accreditation of the Forensic Audio Visual Unit and the Forensic Multimedia Unit covering activities such as:
- Retrieval and specialist examination of CCTV
- Conversion, enhancement and compilation of video and audio evidence
- Capture and processing of 3D imagery of crime scenes
- Support of the National training standards framework set out by COP and FSR CCTV Framework
- Accreditation, training and competency of FAVU & FMU staff
- Implementation of ISO 17025 & FSR Codes of Practice
Forensic Multimedia Operational Supervisor - Forensic
An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the Digital Portfolio of Forensic Investigation Unit (FIU) as a Forensic Multimedia Operational Supervisor.
Reporting to the Digital Forensic Operational Manager, you will be responsible for the day to day running of FAVU and the Forensic Multimedia Unit covering activities such as:
- Retrieval and specialist examination of CCTV
- Conversion, enhancement and compilation of video and audio evidence
- Capture of 3D imagery of crime scenes & Scene reconstruction
- Support of the National training standards set out by COP and FSR CCTV Framework
- Training delivery and support of photography skills for Forensic Practitioners (CSI)
- Representing the units at force and national meeting
Crime Scene Investigator (Tier 2) - Forensic
Full Package - Linked grade Band 3G Tier 2 package will start circa £30,175 per annum plus 18% shift allowance, 5% on call allowance and 15.5% criticality allowance increasing to Band 3H Tier 3 circa £34,545 per annum plus of 18% shift allowance, 5% on call allowance and 12.5% criticality allowance depending on progression plus benefits.
As part of the overall investment into Forensic Services within Thames Valley Police, we are seeking to attract and recruit experienced CSIs at Tier 2 level, in particular those CSIs that have already completed a recognised CSI Stage 2 course (or equivalent) and are currently competent to examine the most serious and challenging crime scenes. You will already possess a proven background in Crime Scene Examination with demonstrable performance at the highest level.
Head of Physical Forensics
To provide overall leadership and management of all Physical Forensic laboratory capabilities, providing strategic direction on the development and application of policies, processes and systems relating to the delivery of physical forensic science, ensuring the provision of an effective, efficient, and comprehensive service to the investigation of crime. You will be responsible for the day-to-day delivery of these services within the Forensic Quality Management System ensuring that services meet the requirements of the Forensic Science Regulator’s Statutory Code as well as compliance with legal, ethical, and professional requirements set by the MPS and relevant external bodies.
Forensic Submissions Officer
The overall purpose of this role is to maximise the effectiveness of forensic submissions by ensuring that all potential submissions are evaluated in respect to, the viability of the request, the needs of the investigation and its overall cost, both in terms of external expenditure and internal resources.
Forensic Administrator - Fingerprint Bureau
In this interesting role you will provide administrative support within the Forensic Investigation Unit (FIU) ensuring the integrity and continuity of forensic / biometric evidence and presenting a professional interface between FIU and its customers in support of the organisational requirement to secure detections and convictions.
The duties will include the handling, quality assurance, documenting and recording onto computerised systems of forensic exhibits, including biometric samples and updating the results achieved. Dealing with incoming and outgoing post/dispatches and where necessary the secure packaging of exhibits for onward transmission ensuring exhibit integrity and carrying out general clerical duties such as call handling, filing, typing and photocopying.
Forensic Drug Specialist
An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the Forensic Investigation Unit (FIU) as a Forensic Drug Specialist in our growing Drugs Team. In this integral role, you will provide technical expertise and scientific analysis, specifically for cases involving the supply of controlled drugs (County Drug Lines), co-ordinating multi-disciplinary forensic submissions to internal and external laboratories to ensure timely and proportionate outputs to the Criminal Justice System.
Fingerprint Identification Officer (Reporting Level) - Forensic
The Fingerprint Bureau is seeking to recruit experienced and qualified Fingerprint Experts/Specialists, in particular, those with demonstrable training and competence to perform the role at Reporting level. Ideal candidates will already possess a proven background in complex fingermark identifications at an advanced level, with an ability to verify the work of others, responsibility in final decision making, providing expert opinion and presenting evidence to support investigations and criminal justice proceedings.
