Thames Valley Police is making a multi-year investment in our Forensic Investigation Unit and is transforming our wide array of forensic disciplines and in particular digital forensics, to create a forward looking, accredited service which delivers proportionate timely services that support effective crime investigation for TVP and other external organisations. 

As part of this transformation, a number of exciting expansion opportunities have arisen to join the Digital Portfolio of Forensic Investigation Unit (FIU). 

Reporting to a Digital Forensic Unit Technical Supervisor. The Digital Forensic Unit of Thames Valley Police has an exciting opportunity for a Digital Forensic Unit Technician to be based in Kidlington in Oxfordshire (eventually moving to Bicester, Oxfordshire in Spring/Summer of 2026).

Reporting to a Digital Forensic Services Technical Manager. The Digital Forensic Unit of Thames Valley Police has an exciting opportunity for a Digital Forensic Unit Technical Supervisor to be based in Kidlington in Oxfordshire (eventually moving to Bicester, Oxfordshire in Spring/Summer of 2026).

Reporting to a Digital Forensic Unit Technical Supervisor. The Digital Forensic Unit of Thames Valley Police has an exciting opportunity for a number of Digital Forensic Investigators to be based in Kidlington in Oxfordshire (eventually moving to Bicester, Oxfordshire in Spring/Summer of 2026). 

Secondment/Fixed Term Contract for 12 months commencing 14th April.

The overall purpose of the role is to maintain efficient administrative support within the Forensic Submissions Team by providing daily supervision and line management to two small teams of Forensic Administrators and to assist the Forensic Marketplace and Submissions Manager in managing the unit’s workload. 

The overall purpose of this role is to maximise the effectiveness of forensic submissions by ensuring that all potential submissions are evaluated in respect to, the viability of the request, the needs of the investigation and its overall cost, both in terms of external expenditure and internal resources. 

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the Forensic Submissions Unit as a Forensic Administrator – with the post based in Kidlington, eventually moving to the new forensic centre in Bicester in 2026. 

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the Digital Portfolio of Forensic Investigation Unit (FIU) as a Multimedia / Forensic Audio Visual Technician. 

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the Digital Portfolio of Forensic Investigation Unit (FIU) as a Quality Technical Officer for the Forensic Audio Visual Unit and Forensic Multimedia Unit. 

Reporting to a Digital Forensic Unit Operational Supervisor. The Digital Forensic Unit of Thames Valley Police has an exciting opportunity for a Digital Forensic Investigator to be based in Kidlington in Oxfordshire (eventually moving to Bicester, Oxfordshire in late 2025).
