It’s difficult to capture all the positive activity taking place across the Transforming Forensics programme in a few short paragraphs.

Most notably, in recent weeks we have awarded contracts and begun development of the new fingerprint technologies with an aim of testing with several forces later this year.

We’ve also provided stakeholders with a detailed update on the design of the Forensic Capability Network (FCN), being directly shaped by your input, and the developing Prospectus that aims to set out the capabilities, products, services and benefits it will deliver; answering the questions we know you want answered.

Many of you kept the team on their toes at the first regional force roadshow for the national programmes in Kent this week. And that’s exactly what we want.

In the coming weeks we’ll be taking to the road ourselves, visiting regions to provide an update on the programme with a focus on the FCN design and supporting Prospectus outlined above. These events will also be an opportunity for you to hear from those leading the charge, namely the FCN Pillar Leads.

Beyond direct contact with many of you through existing forums, it’s very exciting to say you can now follow the team on Twitter (@TFProgramme).

The capabilities we are creating exist to support you and we want you to continue shaping them. Only by keeping you engaged can we achieve this. The team and I all look forward to speaking with many of you very soon.
