What are we delivering?
This project aims to enable and support forces to achieve and maintain high quality, efficient and standardised processes through the range of activities including: delivery of a national electronic Quality Management System (eQMS); Fire Investigation (FI) validation support; and centralised validation services for traditional and digital forensics delivered ‘once for the benefit of many’.
What difference will it make?
Better quality forensic services will help forces to reduce risk and drive improvement in operational outcomes, in turn leading to improved public confidence. Centralised validation services, done once for the benefit of many, will reduce costs, minimise duplication of effort and allow forces to deploy resources differently.
Our current products, services and capabilities
- electronic Quality Management System (eQMS): creating a national digital QMS, enabling FCN members to access and share accurate and up-to-date information and online learning around quality standards and validation.
- Fire Investigation support: developing a national approach to supporting forces and fire and rescue services to move towards compliance with ISO17020
- Centralised validation services: developing a service model that will centralise the validation of traditional and digital forensic tools and methods on behalf of FCN members.
Future developments and products will build on these, based on the needs of FCN members.
