I can help you with…

I am happy to answer questions regarding validation, accreditation and general quality queries.

What was your first job in policing or forensics?

I joined Leicestershire Police in 2007 as a Forensic Imaging Officer, working with CCTV footage, Mobile Phones, Injury photography, creating court albums and processing negatives in a dark room. No two days were the same and I worked a wide range of cases from Volume crime to Major crime.

What is your favourite part of your role?

Policing has always been a passion of mine, even as a child I knew I wanted to work in Forensics. Supporting 43 forces plus other law enforcement agencies to deliver high quality forensic services to the public and beyond is not only important but gives me huge job satisfaction. I enjoy problem solving, inspiring colleagues and providing advice and guidance that supports prioritising quality forensic output which are reliable for court. My visits to forces are always memorable, its great to meet people in person and see the shared passion for Policing and public safety.

What work in your career have you most enjoyed?

I have really enjoyed working at East Midlands Special Operations Unit (EMSOU) as a Technical Cyber Crime Officer. I worked with a wide variety of talented specialists, including the NCA Cyber Unit, Interpol, Regional CT units and investigated both Cyber enabled and Cyber dependent crimes all over the country. Each day was different, each investigation had plenty of complexity, and no case was the same which enabled me to grow a vast digital skill set quickly.
